Description Starter Pinion for Piaggio / Aprilia / Vespa 125 – 150cc Models The starter pinion is the part that allows the starter motor to engage with the engine to start it, and then disengage once the engine has started so that the starter doesn’t continue to turn with the engine. Over time these wear out, and fail to engage the motor. When this happens it usually manifests as a crunch sound followed by a buzzing electric motor sound, and it can take multiple attempts to get the scooter to start via the electric start. Replacing the pinion is very easy, and immediately fixes the issue! Suitable for Vespa ET4.
