Great retriever, allows me to retrieve discs 20 feet away and several feet deep in the water with light current. The finish is not rough but you can feel the wrap providing good grip although not smooth like a carbon kayak paddle. The retention clip and key rings are cheep and make a jingling noise, I replaced with a Bungie cord and sclip clipped directly to hole under ball head. For 150 a better retention system should be used. Shaft is 1.5 inches wide and fits on my Zuca AT well. My favorite part about this retriever is I don’t have to climb down the river bank to get my discs and the added height of the bank allows me to retrieve discs at full extension.
